The crisp air of November brought a special charm to this Martha’s Vineyard backyard wedding. The beautiful light during the fall in New England makes for amazing fall colors and beautiful backdrops. Although it was a bit cold, the happiness and energy everyone brought made one forget that it was actually 45 degrees outside.
The couple chose to keep things simple and intimate. Only their closest family members attended. This made the day feel real and genuinely special. There were no distractions, just pure moments of joy. It was really great.
Having a backyard wedding in New England allows for a couple to create some special touches to their wedding day. Since the wedding is held at a private residence (in this case one of the family member’s house) one gets to feel like they are at home! One knows the space and that in itself, can just make one feel so much more comfortable, specially on wedding days which can sometimes have many emotions involved.
The day flowed naturally. After the ceremony, everyone went inside for a toast. Then we decided to go and take some photos at Philbin beach in Aquinnah. This spot is an amazing place to take photos in the fall on Martha’s Vineyard. The light, the dunes, the beach, the walkways, they all help to make stunning photos.
Looking back at this wedding it makes me realize that a small wedding can be just as beautiful as a grand one. Because in the end, it’s about the love shared and the memories created. It doesn’t matter if you have 9 guests or 100 guests, what is important is the warmth and joy every guest brings on a special day like this.
